Are you a Black-identifying grade 11 or 12 student thinking about attending university? Are you interested in exploring McMaster University and our vibrant Black Student community and ecosystem?

Event Overview

Experience a day as a McMaster undergraduate student! The BSSC: Day in The Life Event provides Black-identifying high school students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in university life. Students will gain valuable insights into transitioning to higher education through engaging lectures, leadership and post-secondary workshops, a guided campus tour, and networking opportunities. This event fosters confidence, connection, and community, helping students envision their academic future.

Event Highlights

This free in-person event is open to all Black-identifying Grade 11 and 12 students across Ontario, offering a day filled with interactive experiences, learning oppourtunities, and community-building. During this event, High school students will get the chance to:

  • Connect with current Black undergraduate students who will share their experiences and insights into university life.
  • Tour McMaster’s campus and discover key resources that support students’ success.
  • Engage in a university-style lecture and tutorial led by McMaster Black faculty. 
  • Explore academic pathways through program selection, leadership, and post-secondary success workshops.

  • Date: Wednesday, March 12, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Location: McMaster University (building and room location will be sent after RSVP)

Spots are limited, and registration is mandatory.  Attendance should be confirmed as soon as possible, preferablybefore Wednesday, March 05, 2025
